On Tuesday, Jan. 12 a 7.0-magnitude earthquake hit Haiti, the strongest in more than 200 years. Two aftershocks of 5.9 and 5.5 magnitude came minutes later. Many homes and buildings easily collapsed including hospitals, schools and government buildings.

Communications have been completely disrupted, making it difficult to get a full picture of the devastation.
